PARK MAPS & ACCESSIBILITY GUIDE

Set in 160 acres of a Grade II* Georgian estate, formal and natural parkland, shoreline, woodland and heathland, Upton Country Park offers unique opportunities for cross curriculum learning in an outdoor setting throughout the year.

Open Water

Please be aware that the estate grounds include unfenced ponds, lakes, streams and a tidal shoreline. Young children must be accompanied at all times.

Accessibility

There is a network of wide, hard-surfaced, wheel-friendly footpaths throughout much of the Country Park. There are also several kissing gates throughout the estate, each accessible with a Radar key. Accessible toilets are located at the Welcome Centre in the car park, and in the Tea Rooms Courtyard (Radar key required).

The Welcome Centre is step-free and is entered via automatic doors. The Tea Rooms are also step-free and approached by a gentle ramped surface; a lift from the Tea Rooms gives access to The Gallery Upstairs. The Walled Garden adjoins the Tea Rooms and is laid mainly to lawn, with hard surfaced paths at the perimeter.

For further, detailed information please download our Visual Accessibility Guide (pdf, 3Mb) which has been designed to help you prepare for a visit to the Country Park.

We also have a ‘Tramper’ all-terrain mobility scooter available to hire to anyone over the age of 14 yrs – booking essential, full details available at uptoncountrypark.com/tramper. The Tramper map is a guide to getting around the park on a Tramper, but may include useful guidance to other park visitors.
